Véronique Tadjo est une poète, romancière, universitaire et artiste originaire de Côte d’Ivoire. Elle a obtenu un doctorat en littérature et civilisation afro-américaines à la Sorbonne Université et a séjourné aux États-Unis en tant que boursière Fulbright à Howard University. Jusqu’en 2015, elle a dirigé le département de français de l’University of the Witwatersrand à Johannesburg. Ses ouvrages ont été traduits dans plusieurs langues, de Le Royaume aveugle à L’Ombre d’Imana : voyages jusqu’au bout du Rwanda et Reine Pokou, qui a reçu le Grand Prix de Littérature d’Afrique Noire en 2005.

Véronique Tadjo is a poet, novelist, academic, and artist from Côte d’Ivoire. She earned a doctorate in Black American Literature and Civilization from the Sorbonne, Paris IV, and went to the United States as a Fulbright scholar at Howard University in Washington, DC. She headed the French Department of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg until 2015. Her books have been translated into several languages, from The Blind Kingdom, to The Shadow of Imana: Travels in the Heart of Rwanda, and Queen Pokou: Concerto for a Sacrifice, which was awarded the Grand Prix de Littérature d’Afrique Noire in 2005.
