Hervé Le Tellier

Hervé Le Tellier (né à Paris en 1957) est un écrivain et linguiste français, membre depuis 1992 de l’Oulipo (Ouvroir de Littérature Potentielle) dont furent membres Raymond Queneau, Georges Perec, ou Italo Calvino… Hervé Le Tellier a d’abord été mathématicien, puis journaliste scientifique, avant de se consacrer à l’écriture, à partir des années 90. Son premier roman, Le voleur de nostalgie, est un hommage à l’écrivain italien Italo Calvino. Il s’est fait connaître en 1998 avec la publication de Les amnésiques n’ont rien vécu d’inoubliable, un recueil de mille « pensées », puis Assez parlé d’amour (2009) ou un récit familial, Toutes les familles heureuses (2027), avant de rencontrer un lectorat populaire avec L’Anomalie, prix Goncourt 2020, vendu à plus de 1,6 million d’exemplaires en France, traduit dans plus de 40 langues et bientôt adapté en série.

Hervé Le Tellier (born in Paris in 1957) is a French writer and linguist, and has been a member since 1992 of the Oulipo (Workshop of Potential Literature), whose members included Raymond Queneau, Georges Perec, Italo Calvino… Hervé Le Tellier first worked as a mathematician, then as a science journalist, before devoting himself to writing from the 1990s onward. His first novel, Le voleur de nostalgie, is a tribute to the Italian writer Italo Calvino. He gained recognition in 1998 with the publication of Les amnésiques n’ont rien vécu d’inoubliable, a collection of one thousand “thoughts,” followed by Assez parlé d’amour (2009) and the family narrative Toutes les familles heureuses (2027), before reaching a wide popular readership with L’Anomalie, winner of the Prix Goncourt in 2020. The novel sold more than 1.6 million copies in France, has been translated into over 40 languages, and is soon to be adapted into a television series.
